Cobden Place is an extension of the Hopkinson branch yet it comes with its own merits, such a ground floor level shop and cafe that is home to a more specially curated collection from the owners private kitschy stash. Along with this came another colour scheme, and providing that some Hopkinson elements remained consistent then there was artistic freedom with the designs too, this allowed them to be more bouncy, fun, and have some good character to them like the business itself.
The building is situated in a closed courtyard, down a narrow alleyway, which is adjoining a busy pedestrian area. The building balances being secluded like a hidden gem yet also needing to attract footfall. Because of this, the hand drawn designs were made to have maximum impact and be clearly visible from the end of the courtyard, and even through the alley way.
