Whales and Waves is a small gallery that recently opened it’s doors in Loughborough city centre, so for the grand opening they approached me to design and paint some much needed signage as well as a logo.
I worked directly with the owner and artist of Whales and Waves, Olivier Leger, and through several different logo options based on his previous brand aesthetic we settled on using a cursive script and a Roman letter style through all of the lettering elements. As Olivier’s artwork is primarily focused on aquatic life I designed this one with free flowing swooshes around it which are reminiscent of the every changing currents in oceans and seas.
The gallery looks wonderful and especially now that it has the finishes touches painted on.
Looking over the intense details of his drawings was infinitely better than watching the paint dry in between coats so I was never bored for a moment!
